David Pecoraro, Senior Vice President and Chief Information Officer

 for the SCL Health System and is based in Denver. Dave joined the health system in 2006. In his role, he is responsible for all aspects of information technology, including systems and strategic planning and all e-health care initiatives, including implementation of the system’s electronic medical record. 

Prior to joining the health system, Dave was Vice President and CIO for Jewish Hospital Healthcare in Louisville, Ky. Prior to that, Dave served as a chief industrial engineer for Kaiser Permanente in Southern California and Director of Management Services for the University of Kentucky and Appalachian Regional Hospitals.

Dave has an extensive background in process engineering and health care information systems encompassing clinical and business information systems, multi-hospital operations, materials management and logistics, and health information management systems.

Dave earned a bachelor's degree in industrial and human factors engineering from West Virginia University in Morgantown, W.Va. He earned a master's degree in systems science and health care services administration from the University of Louisville in Louisville, KY., where he served as adjunct faculty in the College of Urban and Public Affairs.
