Easily accessible from major highways, the Doctors Building, Providence Saint John Foundation and Providence Place, a 90-bed nursing facility, are also located on the campus.

Providence Medical Center's Services and Expertise: 

• Heart and Vascular Center: Our team of experts offers cardiovascular diagnosis, treatment, prevention and education. For patients who have undergone cardiac surgery, Providence features a dedicated Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit as well as a Cardiac Vascular Care Unit. Other services include cardiovascular surgery, two cardiac catheterization laboratories, cardiac interventions, peripheral - diagnostic and interventional, cardiac rhythm implants and non-invasive heart services. Providence is also an accredited chest pain center.
• Providence Breast Center: Women benefit from comprehensive, centralized breast diagnostic services, including stereotactic breast biopsy.
• Providence Joint Center: This Center has recreated the way staff members care for persons receiving a total knee, hip or shoulder replacement.
• Providence Spine Center: The Hospital offers a comprehensive multi-disciplinary spine care program.
• Cancer Services: Providence's comprehensive oncology program is accredited by the American College of Surgeons' Commission on Cancer. Services include a Radiation Oncology Center with a Trilogy system that treats a variety of life-threatening conditions, including cancer, with image-guided radiation therapy, as well as outpatient and inpatient hemotherapy; outpatient and inpatient surgery; medical oncology and pathology; participation in national protocol studies; cancer awareness; prevention health education programs; and spiritual care, home health care and hospice referrals. A nationally-recognized Palliative Care Program is available.
• Interventional Radiology Services.
• Family Care Center: Maternity, obstetrical, gynecological and pediatric patients receive care through this Center.
• Team Works Sports Medicine and Outpatient Rehabilitation Services.
• Surgical Services: The Medical Center offers a broad range of general and specialized surgical services including neurosurgery, orthopedics, and cardiac and vascular surgery; and Outpatient Services, featuring same-day surgery, pain management and diagnostic procedures.
• Providence is the Official Hospital Partner of Sporting KC.
• Providence and Saint John are the Official Health Care Providers of the Kansas City T-Bones.

At the request of the local bishop, the Sisters of Charity of Leavenworth opened Providence Hospital in 1920. In 1976, the Medical Center relocated to a new site on a spacious campus in western Kansas City, Kan. The Mission continues to focus on Providence's special identity as a Catholic Hospital while expanding its service area and serving the needs of the community-well into the future.
