Kerry W. Kohnen, Senior Vice President, Payer and Population Health Strategies
Kerry W. Kohnen joined SCL Health as Senior Vice President of Payer and Population Health Strategies in May 2016. He has executive leadership responsibility for the direction, development and implementation of SCL Health’s comprehensive and integrated population health strategy, which includes shared risk care delivery and financing models, Medicare Shared Savings programs, bundled payment programs, narrow network products and accountable health networks.
Previously, Kohnen served as the Regional President of the Kaiser Foundation Health Plan of Georgia, and also served as the Senior Vice President and Chief Operating Officer. He propelled Kaiser Permanente to major improvements in health plan rankings and a 5-Star Medicare rating from Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS).
Kohnen earned a master’s degree in business administration and a bachelor’s degree in business administration with a focus on finance – both from California State University, Northridge, where he graduated magna cum laude. He is a frequent public speaker on healthcare issues and the Affordable Care Act, and serves on the board of the Carter Center Board of Councilors, the Woodruff Arts Center Board of Trustees, and the Rotary Club of Atlanta.
