CEO and President, Michael A. Slubowski, FACHE, FACMPE

Mike Slubowski, FACHE, FACMPE joined SCL Health in January 2011 as president and CEO. Slubowski provides executive leadership to SCL Health’s entire healthcare ministry, which includes eight hospitals, four safety net clinics, one children’s mental health center and more than 190 ambulatory service centers in three states – Colorado, Kansas, and Montana. The health system includes 15,000 full-time associates and more than 500 employed providers.

During his time with SCL Health, Slubowski has led numerous strategic initiatives, including the engagement of the governance, leadership and associates of SCL Health in formulation of a new vision statement; ministry realignment in Kansas and California with other Catholic and secular partners; achievement of balanced scorecard goals and the development and implementation of new strategic priorities of person-centered care, ministry excellence, accountable health, provider partnership, growth, leveraging skill scale and learning, and associate empowerment.

Prior to joining SCL Health, he held senior executive management positions with Trinity Health, a multi-state Catholic healthcare system based in Novi, Mich. He served as President, Health Networks from July 2009 to December 2010, and for the previous four years, served as President, Hospital and Health Networks. Slubowski's 35-year career includes leadership positions at Catholic and secular healthcare systems and hospitals in Michigan and Arizona.

In addition, Slubowski serves as Chair of the SCL Health - Front Range Inc. Board of Directors. He holds fellowships in both the American College of Healthcare Executives and the American College of Medical Practice Executives. He is on the Boards of the Denver Metro Chamber of Commerce, the Catholic Health Association and the Catholic Healthcare CEO Connection. He also serves in a variety of regional and national healthcare professional organizations and received the Regent’s Award and 2010 Distinguished Service Award from the American College of Healthcare Executives.

Slubowski received his bachelor's and Master of Business Administration degrees from Wayne State University and completed advanced healthcare leadership training through an Advanced Leadership Institute conducted by the University of Michigan School of Business and sponsored by the National Center for Healthcare Leadership.
