Christine Woolsey is Senior Vice President and Chief Communications Officer

Christine Woolsey is Senior Vice President and Chief Communications Officer for SCL Health System (SCLHS), based in Denver. She joined the health system in July 2010 to create a Corporate Communications and Marketing function to facilitate all internal and external communications, as well as system branding and marketing strategies.

Woolsey is a member of SCLHS' Senior Executive Leadership Team, and a board member of St. Mary's Hospital and Regional Medical Center in Grand Junction, Colo. In her role as head of System Communications and Marketing, she manages all system and executive messaging, financial communications, system branding and public relations, internal communications and eHealth initiatives. She also serves as head of Federal Advocacy for the system, developing communications and outreach strategies to influence legislators regarding the system's position on health reform and other industry regulations.

Prior to joining SCLHS, Woolsey was Senior Vice President and Director of Midwest Healthcare for Hill + Knowlton Strategies, a global public relations agency, where she provided strategic communications and crisis counsel to a range of Fortune 500 companies. SCLHS became her primary client in 2006 and she served as Interim Vice President of Communications & Marketing for Exempla Healthcare prior to accepting her current position.

Woolsey earned her bachelor's degree in journalism from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and spent the first part of her career as a reporter and editor for a number of news organizations, including Crain's Chicago Business, WBBM Newsradio 780 and "Chicago Tonight."
