Colorado Board of Health Elects 2008 Officers
DENVER - At its meeting Wednesday, Jan. 16, the Colorado Board of
Health elected its 2008 officers.
Jeanne T. McGinnis was re-elected to her second term as president,.
Glenn Schlabs was re-elected to his second term as vice president and
Jim Martin, executive director of the Colorado Department of Public
Health and Environment, was selected as secretary.
McGinnis, of Lakewood, is physician services administrator for Exempla
Lutheran Medical Center in Wheat Ridge. She initially was appointed to
the board by Gov. Roy Romer in October 1995. She was reappointed by
Gov. Bill Owens in June 1999 and again in February 2003. In April 2007
she was reappointed by Gov. Bill Ritter to serve another four-year
Schlabs, of Colorado Springs, is a member of the law firm of Sherman &
Howard, LLC, in the Labor and Employment Department of the firm’s
Colorado Springs office. Schlabs was appointed to the state Board of
Health by Gov. Bill Owens in 2002 and was reappointed in 2005. He
currently serves as vice president of the board.
The primary duties of the nine-member state Board of Health are to
adopt or revise standards, rules and regulations to administer the
public health laws of the state. Regular meetings are held on the third
Wednesday of each month.
