LONGMONT, Colo. (AP) - Police in Colorado say a Monana man stole an ambulance from outside a hospital in a Denver suburb, then led police on a chase that reached speeds between 80 and 100 miles per hour.
Police says the suspect is 35-year-old Micky Terry of Park City, Montana.
They say he walked out the front entrance of the hospital, and went around the back of the building and jumped in the ambulance.
A deputy with the Boulder County Sheriff's Department first spotted the vehicle and made a traffic stop. When the deputy approached the car, the suspect took off with lights and sirens on.
The suspect hit a car stopped in traffic in Longmont, Colorado, before losing control and crashing into some landscaping.
Police say Terry attempted to flee on foot, but he was apprehended by some bystanders.
No one was injured in the crash.
