Lutheran to house cancer program in Wheat Ridge
The American Cancer Society launched its Patient Navigator Program on Tuesday, Sept. 2, at Exempla Lutheran Medical Center in Wheat Ridge. The program connects cancer patients, their caregivers and family members with a "navigator," who provides support as they battle through the physical, emotional and financial challenges cancer brings.
The program was funded in part by AstraZeneca as apart of a $10 million pledge to initiate at least 50 new Patient Navigator Programs in five years. There are currently more than 80 program sites across the country, with five in the Denver area.
