But if you're more of the nonfiction-type, then we've got a local story for you. And this story doesn't involve just one, but rather two babies "born under unusual circumstances." Our first story involves the birth of little Sariah Trevino. She's the little baby born on Tuesday inside the central branch of the Denver Public Library in Downtown Denver. "I think it's crazy," her mother Dominque told 9NEWS on Wednesday. "I can't believe I had her at the library." Dominque thought she was in a bit of trouble when she hopped on an RTD bus to try to make an appointment at Denver Health Medical Center. "I felt pressure, and I was like, 'Yeah, she's trying to come out,'" she said. A passenger on the bus knew something was up and asked the bus driver to stop, right in front of the library at 14th Street and Broadway. "As soon as I got off the bus I went into the library and she came on out," she said. Sariah came in at 5 pounds, 12 ounces. Remember that number. Because that number leads us nicely into story number two. On Monday night, Casandra Garcia knew her baby was coming so she hopped in a car and tried to make it to a nearby hospital. "We thought we had enough gas (in the car)," she said on Wednesday sitting inside Exemple Good Samaritan Medical Center in Lafayette. "We had just put in gas two days ago." Apparently they failed to put in enough, because while they were driving on the Boulder Turnpike, the car sputtered to a stop. "The car just started slowing down, and we realized we ran out of gas," she said. Thankfully a pair of paramedics showed up pretty quickly. "When the EMTs got there I got really relieved because I didn't want to give birth inside a freezing vehicle," she said. So she gave birth inside an ambulance parked alongside Highway 36 just shy of the Church Ranch Boulevard exit. "It was unreal. I'm just glad everything turned out alright," she said. You can probably guess just how much little Daniel weighed at birth: 5 pounds, 12 ounces. The two mothers have never met and they might never meet in the future, but you can bet they'll be telling this story for a long time. The good news is that this story ends well. Both babies are healthy. I wonder if Brad Pitt will play one of those involved in the yet to be announced movie? (Copyright KUSA*TV. All rights reserved.)
