HRH Foundation To Provide Free Dental Care for Children September 14-15
August 03, 2009
Appointments Available Now
Holy Rosary Healthcare Foundation’s SmileSavers program will return to Miles City September 14-15 at Holy Rosary Healthcare. The Foundation, through the financial support of donors, provides complete dental services for youth living in eastern Montana. Services are provided to children who are already on Medicaid, CHIP or meet identified household income guidelines.
The project brings the Ronald McDonald Care Mobile to Miles City regularly. Since the program was launched in September 2005, over 650 children have received care. The CareMobile is a full-service dental office setup in a large RV. Children will see a dental assistant, dental hygienist and dentist. During the two-day stay, over 60 children will be seen and treated.
Kids, from ages 4 to 12, receive complete dental care onsite; this includes pulling teeth and filling cavities. Each child also will be sent home with floss, a toothbrush, toothpaste and a timer so they may time their daily brushings.
According to 2000 census data, approximately 74 percent of children in Montana are without dental coverage.
Appointments are available now for September 14-15. To learn if a child qualifies or to schedule an appointment, please call the Ronald McDonald Care Mobile directly at 406.238.6008 or 1.866.822.1411.
