Holy Rosary Healthcare Adding Second OB/GYN and Third Women’s Health Specialist Also Added
January 07, 2010
Holy Rosary Healthcare has successfully recruited a second OB/GYN physician and a women’s health nurse practitioner.
“Miles City has long been known for excellent women’s health care,” said HRH CEO Ron Webb. “Holy Rosary is being very deliberate about recruiting excellent physicians and building our medical staff locally in family medicine and specialty areas including women’s health. We have an aggressive strategy for physician recruitment as we know that best serves eastern Montana.”
Dr. James MacMillan, OB/GYN, and Lynn MacMillan, Women’s Health NP, will open a comprehensive women’s health practice at Holy Rosary on January 21, 2010. They are a husband-and-wife team with 25 years of obstetrics, gynecology and women’s health experience in robust practices with high-risk delivery experience.
Dr. MacMillan completed his residency at the University of Hawaii and proceeded to practice in Hawaii until 2004. He comes to Holy Rosary from Syringa Hospital & Clinic’s Women’s Health Center in Grangeville, Idaho. He enjoys teaching and has been a medical professor at the University of Hawaii School of Medicine and Department of Maternal and Child Health.
Lynn MacMillan, NP, has a bachelor’s degree in education and completed her nursing degree at the University of Hawaii. Additionally, she completed her nurse practitioner training at UCLA Medical Center in the area of women’s health care. She has been a certified nurse practitioner in women’s health since 1995 and was previously a nurse in labor and delivery in a hospital and OB/GYN clinic.
In addition to the new physicians, Holy Rosary has also successfully expanded their comprehensive total women’s health program with specialty disciplines in physical therapy, surgery, diagnostic imaging, nursing, anesthesia, and pharmacy.
The MacMillan’s join Dr. Erin Stevens, OB/GYN, who has built a full practice at Holy Rosary Healthcare since beginning September 1. Dr. Stevens graduated from the New York Medical College and completed her residency at Stony Brook University Hospital in New York. Selected the top teaching resident, she will begin a fellowship in gynecology oncology beginning this fall.
