St. Vincent Healthcare recognized by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) and Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA) as a Medal of Honor Winner

Billings, MT—(April 20, 2010)—Today St. Vincent Healthcare of Billings received the prestigious Medal of Honor for the fifth year in a row, as designated by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) and Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA). Given to a small amount of hospitals nationwide, it recognizes those hospitals that have met and exceeded national collaborative goals in organ donation. Through concerted efforts, including excellence in communication, education and patient care, St. Vincent has achieved outstanding results. Those efforts have resulted in 21 lives that have been saved during the time period evaluated. In receiving this award, St. Vincent Healthcare is being honored for its exemplary leadership and commitment to organ donors, donor families, and the more than 100,000 patients on the national transplant waiting list, including 220 in Montana alone.
