January 03, 2012

Holy Rosary Healthcare (HRH) is beginning its ninth session of Healthy Lifestyles, a 10-month weight management and healthy living wellness program. The program will begin in Miles City, Forsyth, and Colstrip with one-on-one personal assessments in January and the formal program launching in early February.

Healthy Lifestyles is facilitated by a team of wellness experts and educators at Holy Rosary Healthcare in Miles City and through a partnership with Colstrip Medical Center and Rosebud Health Care Center (Forsyth). HRH will be accepting up to 60 people in Miles City, and up to 15 in Forsyth and 30 in Colstrip. Interested parties are encouraged to enroll now as the classes fill quickly.

"We're so happy to be taking this program back to Forsyth and Colstrip," said Liane Vadheim, RD, one of the program's lifestyle coaches and instructors. "Our participants in Forsyth and Colstrip will join the class through the telemed system which has worked really well for us. In Miles City, the classes will be at Holy Rosary Healthcare."

Over 700 participants have participated in the program. So far, they have lost several thousand pounds of weight, lowered their blood pressure and cholesterol, and report higher energy.

People at risk for diabetes and cardiovascular or heart disease have a unique opportunity to participate in this medically guided, healthy living and weight management courses through Holy Rosary Healthcare. This project is funded, in part, through a $120,000 grant between the HRH Foundation and the Montana Department of Public Health & Human Services.

  • weight loss and lifestyle goal setting
  • personal lifestyles coach for 1:1 coaching
  • weekly educational sessions monitoring patient status on goal attainment
