HRH hosting Blood Drive August 22 at Eastern MT Fair
Holy Rosary Healthcare (HRH) will hold a blood drive with United Blood Services 4:00 pm – 7:00 pm, Thursday, August 22 in the Bloodmobile at the Eastern MT Fair. Appointments are encouraged and walk-ins will be accepted based on availability. To schedule a donation appointment visit www.bloodhero.com (sponsor code: emf) or call United Blood Services at 1-800-365-4450. Each donor will receive a free UBS water bottle.
Volunteer blood donors must be at least 16 years old, weigh at least 110 pounds and be in good health. Donors who are 16 (and, in some cases, 17) must have signed permission from a parent or guardian. A traditional whole blood donation takes approximately one hour.
Each year HRH uses more than 150 units of blood from United Blood Services. Blood can be stored for only 42 days, so a continual fresh supply is crucial.
United Blood Services – Rocky Mountain supplies blood and blood products to over 40 hospitals in Montana, Wyoming and Nebraska. On average, UBS needs over 150 daily donations to ensure its communities have a safe and dependable blood supply.

HRH, American Cancer Society sponsor Annual Go PINK Demolition Derby at Fair
Holy Rosary Healthcare and the American Cancer Society are partnering for the Annual "Go Pink for Breast Health" Demolition Derby at the Eastern Montana Fair in Miles City on Sunday, August 25 at 1pm.
Breast cancer is the most commonly diagnosed cancer, accounting for 33% of all cancers diagnoses in Montana women, according to the Montana Department of Public Health and Human Services. The American Cancer Society estimates that more than 200,000 US women are diagnosed with breast cancer each year and that 1 in 8 women in the US will develop breast cancer during their lifetime.
The "Go Pink" theme focuses on raising breast health awareness and early detection of breast cancer with the thousands of fans at the Demolition Derby. Three main activities are planned:
Derby goers are encouraged to wear pink in support of eastern Montana breast health
Kids will receive free helium balloons and temporary tattoos.
The Holy Rosary t-shirt cannon will be used to shoot “Go Pink!” t-shirts into the crowd throughout the afternoon.
