HRH Foundation awards $4000 in Community Grants
January 09, 2014
The Holy Rosary Healthcare (HRH) Foundation is pleased to announce two applicants have been selected to receive funding – Custer County Food Bank and Pine Hills Youth Correctional Facility – as part of the community grant program, awarded quarterly.
The Foundation has granted $2,000 to the Custer County Food Bank, in Miles City. Charged with providing food services to underprivileged persons within Custer County, the Food Bank regularly serves approximately 260 households. Funds will be used to supplement the general operating account – solely subsidized by donations and grants – in order to purchase staple food items, as well as to operate and maintain equipment.
Additionally, $2,000 was awarded to Pine Hills Youth Correctional Facility, to be used in the development of Pine Hills Community Park on Haynes Avenue. In an effort to instill vocational skills and community values, the Restorative Justice program will engage students in cleaning and landscaping the area, constructing a walking path, and installing trash and recycling bins. Grant funds will be used to purchase gravel, fencing and a maintenance shed.
All grants are funded through the HRH Foundation, stemming from generous donor contributions designated for community-based, health-enhancing projects. Applications are accepted quarterly; the next deadline for submission is March 1, 2014.
