HRH patients now have access to secure online medical record

Consumers use mobile devices and computers to do nearly everything these days. Now, for families in Eastern Montana, simple and secure online access to personal health information is available as well.

Holy Rosary Healthcare (HRH) is proud to now offer MyChart, an online, secure patient portal designed to provide convenient access to health information for consumers from any personal computer or mobile device.

The new service is part of a larger multi-phased investment in technology by HRH that begin in 2012 and includes an electronic medical system record system. These electronic tools help connect clinicians and consumers in a more meaningful and efficient way to manage their health.

"Holy Rosary is a person-centered organization," VP of Patient Care Services Lisa Sanford, RN, MSN, NEA said. "That means we must not only provide superior health care, but convenience, customer service, and connectivity too. MyChart, along with our comprehensive electronic medical records system, puts powerful tools in the hands of patients and caregivers."

Eastern Montana resident and HRH patient Amber Ballensky has been using MyChart since it launched in April to keep track of her medical records before and after her son was born in May.

"You get the results right away and don't have to call the doctor's office to get them," she said. Ballensky found MyChart helpful as the information she is interested in is available whenever she wants to access it.

"I used it right before I had my son when I had labs done. I simply went into my secure MyChart and checked my lab results," she said. Test results are released to a patient's MyChart account after they are finalized.

Patients who want to participate in MyChart will be issued an activation code during their next clinic or hospital visit. This code will allow them to log in and create their own username and password.

Ballensky finds MyChart very beneficial and convenient for her. "I can do it on my own time," she said. "And I can check back as frequently as I like."

Features available on MyChart include viewing your medical information, communicating with a member of your healthcare team, managing your appointments, and more. Ballensky feels she has more access to her healthcare with MyChart.

"I absolutely feel like I have more access with MyChart. My information goes all the way back to 2012," she said.

At HRH, over 300 people are actively using MyChart since April 1.
