Financial Information

It is through our financial strength that the SCLHS ministry is supported. Through strong financial stewardship we are able to fulfill our Mission by offering the latest in equipment and technology. An example of this is the careQuest initiative that will transform care delivery across our System. Financial strength also allows us to grow to meet the needs in the community, and provide care for the poor and vulnerable where we serve.

Clear strategic goals, accountability measures and strong management oversight contributed to SCLHS position of financial strength during the past year. These factors resulted in SCLHS maintaining an Aa2 bond rating by Moody's Investors Service and an AA rating from both Standard & Poor's and Fitch in fiscal year 2007.

The bond ratings reflect SCLHS strong liquidity position and trend of favorable financial performance from a well-diversified cash flow stream. SCLHS operates in seven distinct markets in four states and maintains a diverse cash flow distribution among its hospital sites. SCLHS's diversified asset base and favorable net income from all hospitals have resulted in reduced dependence on any one facility.
