On Aug. 15, 1910, the Presentation Sisters assumed management and operation of County Hospital in Miles City, Mont., at the request of the community, the Milwaukee Railroad and the doctors associated with the railroad. The Sisters purchased County Hospital in 1915. On April 1, 1997, the Sisters of Charity of Leavenworth Health System assumed sponsorship of Holy Rosary Healthcare (formerly County Hospital).
A vision of a truly integrated health care delivery system began to take shape in 1989 when Holy Rosary purchased 58 acres of land on the south side of Miles City with plans for the development of an efficient campus. Construction of one, easily-accessible, cost-effective facility began with ground breaking ceremonies in October 1993.
Holy Rosary's 49 acute care beds, 86 extended care beds and full-service clinic under one roof create the physical setting for a true continuum of care for persons of all ages. This design has enhanced the health care team's ability to provide quality care-- the key mission of Holy Rosary since 1910. Departments within the facility are functionally grouped to ensure customer-focused care.
Holy Rosary's impact on the health care delivery system reaches far beyond Miles City and Custer County. Holy Rosary, the largest hospital and medical hub of the region, serves residents from across eastern Montana.
