Marillac Clinic’s Mission is to provide primary and preventive health care services for Mesa County’s low-income, uninsured population in a manner that respects the individual’s dignity.  Marillac Clinic, located in Grand Junction, has our primary clinic on the campus of St. Mary’s Hospital & Regional Medical Center.  A satellite clinic, Marillac Clinic at Palisade, opened in 2006 to serve residents in the eastern part of Mesa County.

The Clinic strives to become a medical home for those we serve in Mesa County.  Eligibility criteria include Mesa County residency, household income and lack of insurance.  Patient fees are charged on a sliding scale and according to ability to pay. Marillac participates in the Colorado Indigent Care Program (CICP), which follows the income level of 250 percent of the federal poverty guideline. No one is denied care because of inability to pay.

A distinguishing feature of the Clinic is our integrated care model, which integrates mental health care into the primary care setting. Our model focuses on same-day access to services that include individual counseling, family therapy, group therapy, case management and psychiatric assessment.  This project has been featured in four national peer-reviewed medical journal articles.

With an emphasis on disease prevention and education, Marillac patients receive thorough, cost-effective diagnosis, treatment and follow-up care for a wide range of acute and chronic medical conditions. When necessary, patients are seen by any one of approximately 140 volunteer referral specialists in the community. Sliding fee scale lab and X-ray services are provided to Marillac patients by St. Mary’s and Community Hospital, a local osteopathic hospital.

Patients have access to affordable prescription drugs thanks to the Clinic’s on-site dispensary as well as a medication assistance program to help patients with ongoing medication needs.

The Marillac Dental Clinic features 13 state-of-the-art dental operatories.  The scope of services for adults and children provides basic preventive, restorative and relief-of-pain services, including cleanings, examinations, X-rays, fillings, extractions and affordable dentures. In addition to treating the uninsured, the Dental Clinic accepts Medicaid-eligible children and adults as well as children eligible for the Colorado Child Health Plan.

Marillac Clinic’s expanded and remodeled optical clinic with state-of-the-art diagnostic equipment provides low-cost, complete medical eye exams and affordable new eyeglasses for both children and adults.
