Medical Staff of 373 Physicians

St. Vincent Healthcare was founded in 1898 when two Sisters of Charity from Leavenworth, Kan., traveled to Billings, Mont., at the request of Dr. Henry Chapple, the city’s physician and mayor.  His request resulted in a long-standing tradition of Christian compassion and quality care at the Hospital.

The staff at St.Vincent exemplify a deep love of humankind in their commitment to serve the poor and to help people improve the quality of their lives and reach their highest potential physically, emotionally and spiritually.

Today, Billings’ first hospital serves a four-state region with 320 licensed beds, responding to health care needs while respecting human life.  Our dedicated nurses, physicians, staff and volunteers provide unsurpassed care for patients and their families to help them stay healthy for life. Serving a population of over 600,000, St. Vincent provides care to more than 250,000 patients each year.

  • Cancer Care:  Reflecting our commitment to quality, expert care, in 2008, the American College of Surgeons on Cancer awarded St. Vincent with its highest honor, designation as a Community Hospital Comprehensive Program with a three-year commendation.
  • Heart Center:  The physicians and professional staff combine technical skills and advanced technology to diagnose, treat and prevent heart disease. Patients are assured expert care in cardio-diagnostics, cardiac catheterization, cardiac surgery, intensive care, telemetry and cardiopulmonary rehabilitation.
  • Neuroscience:  Neuroscience specialists at St. Vincent use advanced technology in the diagnosis, treatment and rehabilitation of patients. Services include neuro-diagnostics, sleep center, neurosurgery including use of the Allura Bi-Plane, stroke care, MS Clinic and New Hope Rehabilitation.
  • Surgical Services:  Approximately 30 to 35 patients have surgery at St Vincent each day. The combination of new technology and quality care allow for surgery with less pain, less intrusion and a faster recovery time.
  • Orthopedic Services:  Patients receive an integrated course of treatment that may include surgery, non-surgical procedures and physical and occupational therapy.  Services include arthroscopy, back and neck surgery, foot surgery, ligament repair and replacement, outpatient rehabilitation and sports medicine.
